The Chief of Cabinet, Juan Manzurpresented this Wednesday his testimonial statement to the federal prosecutor Guillermo Marijuanin which she supported the actions carried out by the Minister of Social Development, Victoria Toulouse Peacein relation to the control of ownership of the Enhance Work program.
The national official responded in writing to the questions that Marijuan had sent him in the framework of a Preliminary investigation that it carries out in order to determine if it is appropriate to file a criminal complaint for the decisions made by Social Development after receiving reports from the AFIP.
For the prosecutor Marijuan, it is appropriate to investigate whether the decision of the Ministry of Social Development to cancel some 2,200 Potenciar Trabajo plans was adjusted to current regulations or the cancellations should have been more since the AFIP had pointed out possible inconsistencies in some 260,000 cases.
When answering Marijuan’s questions, the Chief of Staff stressed that “The Minister of Social Development has made public the actions carried out by the ministry under her charge based on the information required from State agencieswithin the framework of powers that are its own” and cited the conference that Tolosa Paz held on November 18.
At that conference, the minister began her presentation in the following way: “I want to bring peace of mind to 99.7% of the holders of the Potenciar Trabajo program. The recipients of social policies are our main concern and we are going to protect them from any stigmatization” .
I have asked the judge to lift the tax secrecy. More than a million Argentines and Argentines need to receive their Work Empowerment and society as a whole demands that the State be efficient and not waste public money. I open thread to explain to my fellow citizens the situation

Then he explained: “Seven days ago I asked the AFIP and the Central Bank to inform me of the list of people who have incurred in a situation of incompatibility with the requirements to be a recipient of the Potenciar Trabajo program. I have also requested that an analysis and cross-check of information be carried out on the payroll that the program has actually received in the last liquidation, carried out on October 20, seven days after I took office as Minister of Social Development of the Nation”.
At that point, he reported that “carried out on 1,362,579 effective holders of the program, we detected 0.3% of cases that failed to comply with the rules. With those people, this ministry is going to be uncompromising.”
The minister explained that “Promoting Work is not incompatible with being the owner of a property, nor with having a motorcycle or a car that is more than 10 years old. But it is incompatible with the purchase of foreign currency.”
“As of the BCRA Resolution of September 2020, 2,098 Potenciar Trabajo holders entered the official market and acquired 864,828 dollars in savings. They will be terminated from the program immediately,” Tolosa Paz had explained on that occasion.
