After the death of 13,800 birds on the Peruvian coast due to H5N1 avian influenza, the authorities declared a health emergency on November 29 for a period of 90 calendar days to prevent the spread of this disease. But how dangerous is it? Is it possible that the pelican is at risk of extinction? Fernando Angulo Pratolongo, principal investigator of the Center for Ornithology and Biodiversity (CORBIDI) explains this worrying issue to us in the podcast.
