A total of 100 high-end explosives were seized in Zulia by agents of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), according to military sources.
The material was transported in a Venirauto brand vehicle, Centauri LX without license plates, which was checked at the military checkpoint located on the bridge of Lake Maracaibo, capital of Zulia.
Inside the vehicle they also carried 86 electric detonators placed in a thermal cellar.
In this procedure, they arrested the two occupants of the vehicle identified as Alexander José Tamaronis Torres and Jorge Luis Bacaranda Rico, members of the Los Mineros criminal group, who were heading to Puerto Ordaz (Bolivar). They will be prosecuted for the crime of trafficking in war material.
And in the Las Guardias sector, Guajira municipality, Zulia state, the military seized a 9 mm traumatic pistol, Ceonic ISSC brand, M-22 model, twenty-five 9 mm caliber rubber cartridges, one hundred primer capsules (percussion cap) and a plastic container containing thirteen and seventy-seven grams of gunpowder, according to the report.
The material was transported by Danys José Fuenmayor Navarro, who was handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office where they opened a file for illegal possession of a firearm.
