5,455 new Covid-19 infections are registered, 10 deaths and 563,248 recovered

Panama registered this Monday, January 24, 5,455 new cases of Covid-19, which raised the accumulated infections to 650,138.

The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) detailed that in the last hours 10 new deaths were raised; which increased the deaths from coronavirus in the country to 7,609. The lethality of the virus is 1.2%.

The number of recovered is presented at 563,248 and the active cases are set at 79,281.

Regarding this last statistic, the authorities specified that there are 77,953 people confined to their homes and 472 are staying in hospital hotels.

While in the hospital wards there are 767 patients and 89 are confined in the intensive care units, victims of COVID-19.

In the last 24 hours, the Minsa has applied 14,472 tests, and a positivity percentage of 37.6% is maintained.
