Taxi driver is accused of doing "private tour" and robbing Italian tourists in Cusco

The rapid deployment of agents belonging to the Cusco Tourism Commission, allowed the intervention and arrest of an individual accused of the alleged crime against property – aggravated theft of money to the detriment of two tourists of Italian nationality.

Juan Tineo (53), is the individual arrested for being the alleged perpetrator of theft in tort of foreign tourists Paride Mazzota (33) and Hermes Mazzota (28), in the vicinity of the Tambomachay Archaeological Center.

The arrest was registered after receiving a direct complaint for the theft of money to the detriment of foreigners, for the total sum of approximately one thousand euros, money stolen from inside the pocket of their jackets, in circumstances that they carried out their tour.

Together with the Provincial Prosecutor of Tourism Cusco, the driver of the F1V-234 license plate vehicle was identified, who had been carrying out tourism services, and when carrying out the vehicle registration, found height of the front seat, cash, the sum of 840 euros.

Likewise, the person intervened was detained, for being within the scope of flagrante delicto, the refund of the money recovered from the complaining tourists was made.
