The Buenos Aires government presented a series of policies to deepen the prevention and care of gender violence, among which stands out a agreement with the 911 police emergency line.
The Buenos Aires Minister of Women, Gender Policies and Sexual Diversity, wake dayz, referred in a statement to the announcements he made in the framework of the II Congress of Public Policies against Gender Violence, which was held days ago in Mar del Plata.
Thus, he anticipated that it will be signed “an agreement with the 911 line, which receives police emergencies, so that it shares the information with the 144 line, of the Ministry of Women, when the complaints are for gender violence”.
“Among other things, 144 will be able to monitor the location of mobiles in an emergency situation“, said.
In addition, he informed that an agreement will be signed with the telecommunications company Telefónica de Argentina first and then with other companies so that the panic button that victims have to warn about a potential situation of violence do not consume cell phone data.
In this way, people who have an anti-panic button to report the breach of the perimeter by the aggressor will be able to activate it even if they do not have data on their cell phone.
The Executive Branch also announced the use of a Single Form for Complaints of Gender Violence so that all the police stations and specialized areas in the municipalities have a single system that allows them to feed the Single Registry of Cases (RUC), and so that the security forces have a unified questionnaire to assess the level of risk expressed by each complaint.
At the same time, the social organizations that work in the territory will be incorporated into the program Communities without Violencewhich allocates funds and technical assistance to the 135 municipalities of the province of Buenos Aires.
