As reported by the IM, the objective of this temporary employment program for women is to “improve the employability conditions of women over 18 years of age, who have an educational level less than or equal to the fifth year of secondary school, who are unemployed and reside in Montevideo”.
On this occasion, 95 women will be hired who will have 10 hours of training in different areas and 20 hours of weekly operations. The weekly jobs consist of sweeping tasks on curbs, sidewalks, surrounding trees and containers, cleaning litter bins and public transport stops.
Registration is done online but women who need it can request face-to-face assistance at various points in the city.
After registration is complete, a selection will be made by public lottery.
Inclusive Sweep is a transitory labor education program, articulated between the Secretariat of Employability for Social Inclusion and the Advisory Division for Gender Equality, which the Municipality of Montevideo has been implementing since 2002.
