Santo Domingo. – President Luis Abinader met this Tuesday afternoon with General Laura J. Richardson, commander of the United States Southern Command, where cooperation and security efforts between both nations were discussed.
As detailed by the Presidency in a statement, the meeting with the commander of the US Southern Command took place at the end of the inauguration of the Sixty-first Class of Cadets of the Dominican Republic Armyat the Battle of Las Carreras Military Academy.
Previously, the spokesman for the Presidency, Homero Figueroa, explained that issues on donations made to the country such as military vehicles, ships and mobile hospitals would also be discussed; gender integration, women leaders, peace and security in the region and future events in relation to Fuerzas Comando 2023.

The Head of State was accompanied by the staff of the Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Diaz Morfa; the General Commander of the Army, Major General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre; of the Air Force of the Dominican Republic, Major General Carlos Ramón Febrillet Rodríguez and the Commander General of the Navy, Vice Admiral Francisco Sosa Castillo.
