The Colombian midfielder Andrés Balanta died this Tuesday due to a decompensation, while training with his teammates from Atlético Tucumán, on the second day of the preseason.
Balanta’s death was confirmed by the Tucuman club on social networks: “Atlético Tucumán regrets to confirm the death of Colombian soccer player Andrés Balanta. We embrace and accompany his family and friends with deep respect at this time.”

Balanta, who was 22 years old, “suffered a decompensation during soccer practice with the squad, which initially led to cardiac arrest, and he was urgently taken to the hospital, but could not be revived.” according to the medical part. Balanta died in the health center of the Tucuman capital.
The Colombian Football Federation (FCF) reported Balanta’s death and left this message on his official Twitter account: “The Colombian Football Federation regrets the death of Andrés Balanta, a national team player in its different categories. We send our condolences to his family, friends and relatives. RIP”.
Former Deportivo Cali, from Colombia, joined the “Dean” in the second semester, requested by coach Lucas Pusineri, who directed him at that institution where he played a total of 7 games.
