The reforms known as “decent vacations”, which extended from 6 to 12 days the minimum vacation that a worker can enjoy upon completing his first year of work, was unanimously endorsed by the Senate on November 3 and reached the Chamber until the day November 15.
The agreement of all the benches in the Senate was to include a transitory article so that, if approved in their co-legislator, they would enter into force as of 2023.
However, the Labor Commission has not proceeded to rule on the minutes, so the official letter sent to the PAN deputy Santiago Creel, the leader of MC asked that, since there will be no electoral reform this week, the decent vacation reforms be discussed in the session of the Chamber of Deputies that takes place today or tomorrow, Wednesday 30.
However, the Board of Directors did not process the request at the beginning of the session.
Creel Miranda said for his part that his party, Acción Nacional (PAN), has not received pressure nor is he aware of the delay in approving the bill.
This is because Álvarez Máynez accused Morena of accepting pressure from Francisco Cervantes, president of the Business Coordinator (CCE), with the “false discourse” that there would be adverse impacts on companies.
“He went with his lobbyists to ask for this,” that the approval of the reform be stopped and the official party granted it, he added.
For this reason, he blamed Morena for blocking the approval of the minute, from the Labor Commission, chaired by the deputy Manuel de Jesús Baldenebro, because from the coordination of the Morena bench, the discussion and vote on the minute of the agenda was downloaded of the session that this working group will have tomorrow.
However, Baldenebro himself has expressed his support for the amendments.
According to what was reported by Morena, it is sought that in the next few days the Commission will discuss and specify changes to the minutes so that it is not mandatory for companies or workers to take vacation periods of 12 consecutive days, and the possibility is established. that they are 6 days, with the possibility of splitting the remaining 6 days, the rest of the year and as convenient for the worker.
