The Paraguayan digital platform Reva, a sports venue management app to reserve pitches and socialize with other athletes, is in the process of international expansion, with operations in Bolivia and Colombia.
Guillermo Arce, computer engineer and CEO and co-founder of Reva, said that The idea for this platform was born in 2016, when he wanted to rent a soccer field, prior to a final of his college’s internal tournament, but without success. The little information available and the difficulty in finding free courts was a trigger to take the initiative to do something of their own.
Six years later, José Guggiari, Andrés Galacho and Guillermo Arce turned a dream into a Paraguayan technology company with more than 100,000 users in Latin America. “In July 2017 we began to meet after work, thinking about the project that we wanted to carry out. After six months, the three of us left our jobs to dedicate ourselves to Reva”, Guillermo Arce proudly recounted.
In Paraguay, the platform has been in place since January 15, 2018 with eight complexes available. In its beginnings it offered reservations for private sports fields. hToday I also participate in sports competitions of different disciplines, find people close to me to play with, Compete with friends and keep track of your activities as well as review the history of other players.
After consulting with the Koga company, I passedn to be called Pelota Jara to Reva. “Koga certainly helped us run as a company ready to grow and meet our aspirations. In addition, they made us aim abroad, ”said the CEO.
In September 2019 they had your first international contact. It was with a Bolivian businessman. The product convinced him and he began the process to promote himself in said, already with the new name: Reva.
“Between comings and goings, we managed to place the product in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Post-pandemic growth was extraordinary. This allowed us to hire talent and start expanding to Colombia.” Today Reva operates in Bucaramanga (Colombia) with the intention of arriving in Medellín in the first months of 2023.
The promoters consider that Paraguay is an excellent place to create and test, but that one must also think outward.
