An Argentine company dedicated to manufacturing and marketing a grain storage system partnered with a Spanish company and, with support from the embassy and the Foreign Ministry, set up a plant in the Alhama de Murcia Industrial Park.
The new production unit demanded an investment of 475 thousand dollars. From there, the Insuter company will provide the packaging service and technology on Spanish soil, which will allow it to work with products exported from Argentina.
“It was not easy to obtain the approval here in Spain of the machine that we developed. The Argentine Foreign Ministry and the ambassador intervened to help in this process”, assured Mauricio García, CEO of the company.
Its Spanish counterpart, from the Suchiar company, highlighted the opportunity for the sector as a result of the war in Ukraine, since, according to what he assured, 70% of the beans, chickpeas and wheat that the Iberian country consumes was imported from there: “Some almond producers have already asked us to pack, which they are having problems storing due to cost reasons. We have captured the needs of customers who need to store seeds, others have asked us to carry out tests at the plant in Argentina, since we also offer a packaging service at our facilities”.
Both the Argentine Foreign Ministry, which through support programs for companies gave them support for their participation in international fairs, and the Argentine Embassy that accompanied them in the identification of counterparties and assisted them directly in the process of approval of the machine for export to Spain, were key players in achieving the implementation of this production plant in Spanish territory, they said in a statement.
