The president of the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies, Vlado Mirosevic, announced which will be the first 10 bills to which he will give priority for processing.
Since his arrival at the presidency of the Lower House on November 7, the parliamentarian stated that he would seek to “dust off” 30 initiatives, those that are related to the main problems that affect the population today: security, economic reactivation and cost of the life.
In this sense, Mirosevic confirmed that he will prioritize the project that modifies the Penal Code in terms of preventive detention for the use of firearms or belonging to a criminal organization. Likewise, he will do the same with the project that seeks to expand police control powers to apply measures established in the Migration and Aliens Law.
In this line, the Liberal Party deputy will favor the measure that modifies legal bodies to improve the prosecution of drug trafficking and organized crime, regulate the destination of seized assets and strengthen rehabilitation and social reintegration institutions.
It will also seek that the measure that seeks to increase the penalties for crimes committed against Carabineros, Investigative Police and Gendarmerie personnel and the project that abolishes or modifies the intervention of notaries in certain procedures, actions and procedures can see the light.
On the other hand, there is also the project that seeks to expand the hypothesis of expulsion as a substitute penalty; the one that regulates security measures for public attention in banking and financial institutions; the one that enshrines the right to be forgotten in financial matters; the one that modifies the Tax Code to enable the Public Prosecutor’s Office to exercise ex officio public criminal action for tax crimes, and the project that proscribes, typifies and sanctions digital violence in its different forms and grants protection to its victims”.
