MADRID, Spain.- The Cuban regime announced that the Ticket web platform, with which it intends to eliminate face-to-face queues for the purchase of Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) in Exchange Houses (CADECA), will be ready before the end of January 2023 .
As reported by Joaquín Alonso Vázquez, president of the banking institution, Ticket has been in a pilot test since last Thursday at the Parque Vidal branch, in the province of Villa Clara.
Ticket, created by the company Xetid as an online reservation system, also aims to “avoid illegalities that can arise and contribute to better time management by customers,” said Alonso Vázquez, quoted by the Cuban News Agency (ACN).
The software tool is available for PC (ticket.xutil.net) and through mobile devices with Android operating system at www.apklis.cuand to register you must fill in some requested data, precise information.
According to the owner, each branch will have its Waiting Room where the person can add three beneficiaries, “so family or friends will access the service if they do not have a computer or mobile device.”
After indicating these data and registering an appointment, users must go to a CADECA office with their identity card. If you do not attend the appointment, the online reservation is automatically lost.
The Central Bank of Cuba (BCC) authorized on August 23 the exchange service in the 37 CADECA offices approved for it; in each operation the client is authorized to buy up to 100 US dollars per person or its equivalent in another MLC.
Since that date, Cubans have had to face long lines and suffer the inefficiency of the service to be able to make the purchase.
