In the middle of the hurricane indications that Aeronáutica Civi has receivedl, the Ministry of Transportation met yesterday with 13 unions in the sector to address concerns about alleged corruption and drug trafficking in which officials of the entity would be involved.
As a result of this meeting, Guillermo Reyes, Minister of Transportation, collected these requests, which will be discussed in depth tomorrow and will conclude a road map to meet these and other requests that will be known by the country.

“We are going to collect these requests so that the country knows that our Aeronautics, despite some complaints, has advanced. The initiatives will be answered, it will be known to what point progress has been made or to which ones have responded, what research has been done and what improvement plan we have”, said Minister Reyes.
In addition, the head of the portfolio announced that the entity, after three months of having a director in charge at the head, finally it will have a definitive official, who will be named this week.
On the other hand, in order to address the complaints, although he did not make commitments, Reyes assured that he will listen tomorrow unions one by one to strengthen the entityresolve technical, operational and mission issues, process all “ignored and unattended” complaints and generate spaces for permanent dialogue.
“We are going to tell the country what the complaints have been made, give them answers. There are contractual issues that already have an answer, but we want to give a complete one to the country “recognized the Minister of Transport.

Although the ministry showed interest in the letters from the unions, will be the surveillance and control entities those who will have to carry out the investigations that take place on the indications.
In this regard, Carlos Hernán Rodríguez, Comptroller General of the Republic, said that he is already conducting investigations and entity officials are collecting information for the investigation.
“At the Comptroller’s Office we have been carrying out a series of actions for more than two months precisely in relation to our competence. A series of contracts are being reviewed by the Civil Aeronautics and I have given the instruction that an event of national impact be declared, which allows us to take judicial police actions”, concluded the comptroller general.
According to Civil Aeronautics sources, the next contract that is in the magnifying glass of the organizations is the award of a project that has resources for about $340,000 million for surveillance and security at airports.

On this, Minister Reyes assured that there will be strict surveillance of this contract to “have certainty for ourselves and give it to the country,” he said. Currently in the entity there are more than 850 vacancies that are needed, especially at the end of the year. Reyes assured that it will be reviewed in which processes a contest will be needed to apply and which ones will not.
