The president of the Council of Ministers, Betssy Chávez, assured that the next question of confidence that the new cabinet presents before Congress is not intended to close the Legislative Branch, after the Executive interpreted that there was an “express refusal” of the last question of trust.
Chávez Chino indicated that they are going to go to Parliament to propose dialogue and consensus. In this sense, he agreed that the current formation of Congress ends with its term in 2026, just like President Pedro Castillo.
“We do not intend a second confidence issue to shut down Parliament. We are going to build bridges of dialogue”, he stated in dialogue with TV Peru.
“(Do you agree that Congress fulfills its term until 2026) Of course, is it that the citizens have elected a Government that will be until 2026 and parliamentarians who will be until 2026?”, he added.
Likewise, the prime minister called on the congressmen to put the interests of the country first and put aside those of their political parties. Therefore, she revealed that she will summon them to dialogue meetings with the Executive.
“I urge, I call, I request the parliamentarians who can place the interests of the nation above the interests of political parties. I am going to go personally to call them (to meetings) because if we are not going to build bridges of dialogue, we are all going to get into a hole“, held.
Regarding the hiring of the former chief of staff Hannibal Torres as adviser to his firm, Betsy Chavez He assured that his hiring is due to his knowledge in public administration.
“I immediately appointed Mr. Aníbal Torres as adviser. He is a teacher, a person I respect, a person who knows public administration and is ready to serve the country. He will continue to work with me hand in hand”, he expressed.
