With a “Yes, Mr. President” and the proclamation of four more years, dozens of mayors and directors of municipal districts yesterday offered their support to President Luis Abinader so that he continues directing the destiny of the country.
It was an act of “Citizen Movement, Municipal Power at the Service of the People”who presides Pedro Antonio Richardson de la Rosaleader of the Modern Revolutionary Party and executive director of the Dominican Federation of Municipal District (Fedodim).
“Luis Abinader encourages us and urges us in his daily example of work and patriotic commitment to an exercise with transparency, with accountability, aware that those who occupy public functions in the State are exposed to public scrutiny,” he emphasized.
He said that it cannot be wasted that the official party has the majority of the mayors and municipal districts, with more than 239 municipal officials. He affirmed that in the last eight years of the previous government only three billion pesos were invested in the municipality, while President Luis Abinader in the years he has been in office has already allocated more than 15 billion pesos.
For his part, Víctor D’Aza, president of the Dominican Municipal League (LMD), said that it was a recognition of the management of President Luis Abinader for his support for the municipality that is experiencing “the best moment” with the current government.
“This is an act of recognition of gratitude to a government management that had never been seen before in the Dominican Republic…let us recognize standing the imprint of President Luis Abinader and in the true democratic exercise of the mayors of the municipalities and of the municipal districts of the country”, he said.
