López Obrador offers a message in the Zócalo after leading the march from El Ángel

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador clarified in the past days that the call for his mobilization is not intended to defend the electoral reform and gave a list of 15 reasons why he will go out to travel the 4.5 kilometers that separate the Angel of Independence from the Zócalo de Mexico City.

The reasons for the mobilization next Sunday:

1. Celebrate that in Mexico the oligarchy does not dominate.

2. That corruption is not allowed.

3. Celebrate that the powerful do pay taxes.

4. That Mexico has healthy public finances.

5. That 85% of households receive social programs.

6. That Mexicans feel happy to support the poorest.

7. To say that in Mexico there is no racism.

8. That Mexico does not accept classism or discrimination.

9. That the strategy to deal with violence in the country is succeeding.

10. To highlight that peace is the fruit of justice.

11. To inform that there are 12 million older adults who are beneficiaries of a pension.

12. To offer that the minimum wage will increase.

13. To report that 11 million students receive some kind of scholarship.

14. To give details that the Mexican government is saving 50,000 million by not paying for advertising.

15. To highlight that there is happiness in the Mexican people.

16. And to underline that, despite the covid-19 pandemic, Mexico is advancing and increasing its prestige compared to other nations.
