Budget raised in congressional commission, alert MEF

Kurt Burneo: "We should grow around 5%"

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Kurt Burneo, assured that the Budget Commission has incorporated nine final complementary provisions to the original budget project and these will generate an additional expense of S/1,164.4 million charged to the Contingency Reserve.

“The Budget Commission of the Congress of the Republic has incorporated 09 Final Complementary Provisions, which imply an additional expense of S/ 1,164.4 million charged to the Contingency Reserve, which are not provided for in the bill presented by the Executive in the month of August,” he said.

Added to this, he indicated, are articles that provide budgets for entities such as the Ministry of Health, related to remunerations and additional appointments.

“Where does the opinion of the Budget Commission 2023 take us? They propose a greater expense of at least S/1,164 million against the Contingency Reserve, knowing that it is already compromised. Balance only on paper?,” she wrote on Twitter.

He added that “in retaliation” for the position of his portfolio, of not accepting the modifications, the commission did not agree to rule yesterday on projects that implement the Impulso Peru plan. “It is not sabotage to the government, it is to the country,” he stressed.

The plenary session of Congress will debate the budget on November 28, 29 and 30.
