Little sisters who lost their lives in a traffic accident will be buried in Nueva Guinea

The death of two little sisters aged twelve and six, yesterday morning, Thursday, November 24, has shocked the entire country. Tragedy came early to this Chontaleña family and pain invaded the entire community.

The news quickly spread through the networks: girls were run over on the motorcycle where they were traveling with their father by a cattle truck that was traveling in the direction of Juigalpa, at kilometer 154, the road that leads to Ciudad Rama.

The tragedy, which brought mourning to a family from Chontales, occurred in the town of La Palma, when the minors were taken to the community school on the motorcycle and apparently the truck driver did not realize that the light vehicle would make a turn at left to enter the educational center.

Trucker tried to outdo

Pedro Pablo Bermúdez Martínez, driver of the Freightliner brand truck, white cab, CT 8813 license plates, tried to get ahead despite the fact that the motorcyclist had activated his left stop and according to witnesses the minors raised their little hands as a signal that they were going to turn.

After the onslaught of the heavy machine, the minors died instantly and their bodies were left lying on the pavement. The driver of the motorcycle Marvin Antonio Aragón, (father of the victims) sustained blows and injuries, and was sent to the Hospital Escuela Asunción de Juigalpa in a Minsa ambulance.

The victims were going to promote themselves

The retired teacher Griselda Matus Jaime confirmed that the minors were studying at the La Palma school and the twelve-year-old was going to be promoted to sixth grade, while the six-year-old had completed preschool levels and would enter primary school in 2023.

“Every morning their father would come to drop them off and at noon he would come to bring them, but with such bad luck that the truck ran over the motorcycle and the little ones died. Actually, the educational community of La Palma is in mourning”, said the teacher Matus Jaime.

“I was coming near the bay that is in front of the school and suddenly I heard a loud noise and when I looked, I saw the father of the girls who was on the pavement with his daughters. I am dismayed by what happened in La Palma, this moment is hard for the family and I express my solidarity with the mourners”, said Mrs. Hilda Díaz.

At the scene of the tragedy, traffic agents arrived to carry out the corresponding investigations and as a first step, they proceeded to arrest the driver of the truck that was transporting several cattle to an auction near the city of Juigalpa.

The little sisters were veiled in the town of La Palma and will be buried in the Nueva Guinea cemetery, South Atlantic Autonomous Region, today, Friday, November 25, and some friends of the grieving family demanded justice, in addition, they requested a greater presence of police officers. traffic in that sector, as well as speed bumps to avoid repeat tragedies of this magnitude.
