Mexico City. The delegation of the Venezuelan ruling party arrived in Mexico on the afternoon of this Friday, November 25, to face the dialogue process with the Venezuelan opposition of the Unitary Platform. In a brief, no-questions-asked statement offered by Jorge Rodríguez, President of the 2020 National Assembly, stated that he was pleased that there is a new opportunity to seek peace for Venezuela, as well as frame national solutions in the mechanisms of the Constitution and opt for economic prosperity. “Hopefully this dialogue process allows that,” he said.
Most of the statement was used to introduce the members of the delegation, starting with Camila Fabri, wife of the questioned Colombian businessman Álex Saab, who the government defends as an “ambassador”, while he awaits trial in Miami, United States. Rodríguez recalled that the Italian, who is being judicially investigated for corruption in her country, She is a “plenipotentiary” delegate and stated that she is a human rights defender.
The other members of the delegation are Gabriela Jiménez, the deputies of the AN-2020 Génesis Garvet and Nicolás Maduro Guerra, the ministers of Women’s Affairs Diva Guzmán and of Labor Francisco Torrealba; as well as Larry Devoe and the anti-blockade deputy minister William Castillo.
