The delegations of the Government of Colombia and the National Liberation Army (ELN), which are holding peace talks at the Humboldt Hotel in Caracas, issued a joint statement on Friday, November 25, in which both parties agreed to invite Brazil, Chile , Mexico, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain to consider the possibility of accompanying the process and reactivating the Group of Countries for accompaniment, support and cooperation.
The text also stipulates to initiate diplomatic approaches with the United States (USA) to find out if they are willing to be present at the peace talks through a special envoy, while ratifying Cuba, Norway and Venezuela as guarantor countries.
Both the ELN and the government delegation headed by Gustavo Petro decided to resume the point on the agenda that was established in 2016 and which deals with “dynamic humanitarian actions”, with which in the short term an advance of actions with processes is expected. of “humanitarian relief.”
