Santo Domingo.- Fundación Justicia y Transparencia (FJT) demanded that the Public Ministry attend and launch the public action, given the serious revelations of the lawyer Emmanuel Esquea Guerrero, about various irregularities and violations of Dominican laws, committed in the contracting and sale of the raw material for the asphalt in the streets, the AC-30, by the company Sargeant Petroleum.
The civic entity deplores, “that under the complicit silence and the dark actions of governments during the last 20 years, this harmful and harmful modality for the public interest has been replicating, consisting of grade-by-grade contracting, leonine clauses to the detriment of the state , addendums expanding the benefits of Sargeant Petroleum, the lack of approval by Congress, the non-payment of taxes, in short, a rosary of irregularities that today must be investigated.
The president of Justice and TransparencyTrajano Potentini, recalled that, for almost 4 months, the Dominican State has been waiting without an answer so far, for the setting of a hearing, in the Superior Administrative Court (TSA), to hear about the annulment of the AC contracts -30, subscribed with Sargeant Petroleum, in addition to forcing them to return some 177 million dollars, illegally collected from previous governments.
The FJT understands that this case must be taken to the last consequences, especially in the criminal sphere, because it deals with continuous violations that systematically involve the institutional development of the state and even with the omission and action of authorities that for years They participated in this clearly illegal and illegitimate scheme.
FJT requests greater support for the Public Ministry, today lagging behind and with few results in the fight against administrative corruption
Finally, Justice and Transparency, regretted the lag of the Public Ministry, in the face of the overwhelming cases of corruption, with results and with a limited action in terms of its performance, in the fight against administrative corruption, which leads us to demand from the government of President Luis Abinader, having greater logistical, budget and personnel support, improving its efficiency and capacity, in the fight against organized crime.
