The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published this Friday morning a new daily report on the situation of the pandemic in the country. The portfolio reported that there were 5,369 new cases of Covid-19 and 44 deaths from causes associated with the disease during the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, active cases reached 14,462.
New confirmed cases nationwide show a drop of 11% in the last week, while in the last 14 days the decrease is 9%. Meanwhile, nine regions have reduced their cases in the last week, and nine in the last 14 days.
Of the 5,846 new cases of Covid-19, 2,820 correspond to symptomatic people and 690 do not present symptoms. In addition, 1,859 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 4,900,851. Of this total, 14,462 patients are in the active stage, considering a 5-day isolation from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 4,810,194.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 44 deaths from causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deceased amounts to 62,332 in the country.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 33,656 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 46,941,786 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 14.78% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 16.22%.
To date, 146 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 103 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 231 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
