After the debut of the Brazilian team in the Qatar Cup, this Thursday (24) at the Lusail stadium, the team’s doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, spoke to the press in a press conference about the injury that Neymar suffered in his right ankle and that led him to leave the game against Serbia in the second half.
“Neymar had a sprain in his right ankle, a direct trauma when his opponent’s knee made a movement causing the sprain. Neymar showed a little swelling. We started the treatment with ice on the bench and he has now followed the treatment in physiotherapy. There is no scheduled imaging exam. If there is a need, we will. However, that will be decided after his evaluation tomorrow. The expectation is observation and anything we talk about evolution is premature. We don’t have any answers. It is important to wait”, declared the doctor.
Coach Tite, who also participated in the interview, emphatically stated: “You can be sure that Neymar will play in the World Cup, I am absolutely sure of that. He’s going to play in the World Cup.”
