“I hope that, in Latin America, after a time that we have been involved in fights, we can reach a good port with our international issues. new constitution

The President also addressed the continuation of the constituent process, after the population rejects the proposal for a new Magna Carta in the plebiscite on September 4.

“I like the idea of a Constitution that is capable of containing the questions that we have not yet asked ourselves,” he added.

“It cannot be rigid, that imposes a way of thinking over others; it must allow the democratic debate to institutionally channel the demands of society: promote a development model that is green, strengthen democracy in all instances, in where parity, gender equality is a central pillar, where there is no doubt of unrestricted respect for human rights,” he emphasized.

He also hopes a new Constitution “allows the State to also play a role, not be a merely subsidiary State. It also decentralizes power. We have to distribute wealth in a better way, but also power.”
