Lircay passengers live terror during trip to Lima

Two buses that left the city of Lircay bound for Lima were stranded and the passengers were very scared.

Last Tuesday night, buses loaded with professors from the National University of Huancavelica, Lircay headquarters, left for Lima as part of the protest they were going to carry out in the capital, however, they could not reach their destination. .

When they were traveling near the town of Licapa, they were intercepted by pickets of protesters, who prevented the passage of the aforementioned units, the same ones that were vandalized.

One of those traveling in the units is Huancavelica councilor Elsa Benavente Salazar, who stated that the protesters tried to open the doors of the units, which they were unable to do.

However, when their request was denied, they broke the windows of the buses and deflated the tires, preventing their transportation.

“They broke the head of the driver of the first car, they threw stones at him,” said Benavente Salazar.

The bus left at 4:30 p.m. for the capital in order to participate in the national teachers’ strike, in which they ask for the homologation of their salaries, along with other passengers.

After communicating by telephone, members of the Pilpichaca police station arrived at the scene and managed to prevent the protesters from continuing to vandalize the units, the same ones that returned to their place of origin.
