Deputy Fernando Bastidas said on Tuesday that the Venezuela-Netherlands Friendship Group was installed with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations and establishing alliances, which were announced on June 1 by the president of the National Assembly (AN ), George Rodriguez.
From the AN Bastidas pointed out that the second vice president of the National Parliament, Vanessa Montero, was present at the activity, in addition to the members of this friendship group and representatives of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.
“It is important to note that there is a border relationship between Venezuela and the Netherlands, since on the North-Caribbean façade we border the islands of Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire, which belong to the territory of the Netherlands,” said the parliamentarian.
All this rapprochement, between both nations, has been increasing, which will allow greater commercial, cultural and political exchanges between the parties.
“The presence of the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, in The Hague, is a sign of the activation of parliamentary peace diplomacy, carried out by the Bolivarian Government,” Bastidas stated.
