China donates 10,000 boxes of capsules against covid-19 to Nicaragua

The Government of China donated 10,000 boxes of Lianhua Qingwen capsules to Nicaragua, used in the Asian country against covid-19, the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday.

The donation was delivered in Managua by the president of the Chinese company Skyrizon, Changbao Xu, on behalf of the state company Yiling Pharmaceutical, to the academic coordinator of the Institute of Natural Medicine of Nicaragua, Maritza Ruiz.

“On behalf of the Yiling pharmaceutical company, we donated the first batch of Lianhua Qingwen to Nicaragua, with the aim of supporting the fight against the epidemic of the new coronavirus, and thus protecting the life and health of Nicaraguans,” said the Asian businessman during the delivery. .

Lianhua Qingwen capsules, developed by Yiling Pharmaceutical, are based on traditional Chinese medicine, and stimulate the human body’s defenses against viruses that cause respiratory diseases.

“We are very grateful for the contribution of the Yiling company, since with this important donation we are contributing to the health care of our Nicaraguan people, taking care of our immune system, as well as treating very annoying symptoms that can appear in the face of respiratory upturns” Ruiz pointed out.

The Chinese representative recalled that Lianhua Qingwen capsules have been approved by various countries, including Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.

The Nicaraguan Ministry of Health plans to distribute these capsules in natural medicine clinics that are part of the Local Comprehensive Health Care System (Silais), a total of 190 throughout the country.

Official data indicates that since the pandemic reached Nicaragua in March 2020, covid-19 has left 245 dead and 19,871 infections.

The Nicaraguan Government indicates that 91% of the population over 2 years of age already have the full covid-19 vaccination schedule, while 96% have at least one dose.

Nicaragua has not applied restrictive measures as part of the fight against the coronavirus since the pandemic began, which has earned it criticism from the World Health Organization (WHO).
