Representation of the PL wants to invalidate votes from some models of ballot boxes

The national president of the Liberal Party (PL), Valdemar Costa Neto, announced this Tuesday (22) that the acronym filed a representation at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) to annul the votes of about 280,000 electronic ballot boxes used in the second round. elections, on the 30th of October.Representation of the PL wants to invalidate votes from some models of ballot boxes

The document points out that “in all 279,336 electronic voting machines of models UE2009, UE2010, UE2011, UE2013 and UE2015, used in the Second Round of the 2022 General Elections” inconsistencies were found.

According to the party president, the technical report of an audit carried out by the entity Instituto Voto Legal, hired by the PL, indicates that evidence of malfunctioning of electronic ballot boxes was found, through events recorded in the ballot box log files, which are the records with electoral equipment data. Failures would have occurred only in the second round of elections, in five of the six models used.

“We in the PL are not specialists in data security, that’s why we looked for technicians who would do this work to guarantee the transparency of the electoral process. Also because I, Valdemar, was elected with an electronic ballot box, and the PL bench was elected by electronic ballot box, the PL benches were elected by electronic ballot box. So, it is natural to ask for inspection work so that there is no doubt in relation to our electoral system”, said Costa Neto.

The report points out that, based on the audit carried out solely on the basis of the results resulting from the EU2020 ballot boxes (40.82% of the total number of ballot boxes used in the second round) – 26,189,721 votes should be computed for Jair Messias Bolsonaro and 25,111 .550 votes for the candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, resulting in 51.05% of valid votes for Bolsonaro, and 48.95% for Lula.

“This report does not express the opinion of the Liberal Party, but is the result of studies prepared by specialists who graduated from one of the most respected universities in the world and which, in our understanding, should be analyzed by TSE specialists in a way that is assured and safeguarded the integrity of the electoral process”, argued the president of the PL.
