Santo Domingo. The Fourth Collegiate Court of the National District sentenced to 30 years in prison a man who last year murdered an officer of the Dominican Navy to strip him of his regulation weapon in the sector The swamp.
The defendant, Aneudy Gálvez Perdomo (Bosoko), appeared together with named Bombo, Walan and a minor, around 3:00 in the morning of November 28, 2021 at the Colmado Azul, located on Calle 9, in La Ciénega , where the frigate lieutenant Eddy García Familia shared with his wife and several friends.
The victim’s wife, Marisenny Montero Medina, recounted in court that the attackers took advantage of García Familia getting up from the table and going to the bathroom, located behind the grocery store, and when he turned his back, they fired several shots at him in the middle of darkness, causing his death.
Then they fled the place carrying their weapon, a 38-caliber Taurus revolver, recovered two months later in the hand of Gálvez Perdomo.
García Familia died instantly at the scene, after receiving several shots from a distance that hit him in the thorax and left forearm.
Two months after the crime, the authorities managed to identify and arrest the adolescent who participated in the events, who, when questioned by the Public ministry from the jurisdiction of Children and Adolescents, confessed his participation, identifying Gálvez Perdomo as the person who shot the Navy officer.
When the authorities arrested the defendant, on January 18, 2022, he was carrying the weapon stolen in the assault.
Gálvez Perdomo was sentenced for violation of the criminal offenses of “association of criminals, voluntary homicide and violent robbery”, provided for and sanctioned by articles 265, 266, 295, 304, 379, and 382 of the Dominican Penal Code and articles 66 and 67 of Law 631-16, on Arms and Ammunition Control in the Dominican Republic.
