The Ministry of Health carried out a new balance on the situation of Covid-19 in the country, where it reported 2,633 new cases, of which 1,622 correspond to symptomatic people and 144 did not present symptoms. In addition, 867 positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 4,883,582. and recovered patients reached 4,796,660. since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.
On the other hand, the death of 6 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 61,217 since the start of the pandemic. Meanwhile, positivity reached 14.72% nationwide.
Regarding active cases, these reached 11,116 people and PCR tests amounted to 15,807 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching a total amount of 46,837,956.
Meanwhile, there are 159 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 99 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 1,829 critical beds enabled and 239 critical beds available.
Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 14.39%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are O’Higgins, Antofagasta, Valparaíso and Arica and Parinacota.
