The Federal Police complies with this to haveTuesday (22) 21 arrest warrants, motivated by convictions of crimes related to child sexual abuse in the country. Called Operation Guardians of Childhood, the actions began in August, with the execution of arrest warrants for criminals who were already included in the National Prison Monitoring Bank (BNMP), but were still at large. More than 100 fugitives have been detained in the 26 states and in the Federal District since the beginning of the actions. Arrests are ongoing.
“The purpose of the operation is to remove from social life individuals who had already been investigated, criminally prosecuted and convicted, giving effectiveness to the criminal justice system and preventing new crimes against children and adolescents from being committed,” said the Federal Police, in a note.
It adds that the fight against child sexual abuse is a priority with a broad and complex work, having a unit specialized in the subject, the Service for the Repression of Hate Crimes and Child Pornography.
