The cubans Kryhztian Barrera, Ronny Álvarez and Adrián Fresneda secured the bronze medal this Monday at the La Nucía 2022 World Youth Boxing Championship, which takes place in Alicante, Spain.
Barrera (75 kg) and Álvarez (86 kg), winners in the I Junior Pan American Games of Cali 2021, received unanimous rulings from the judges (5-0) over the Mexican Samuel Aguilar and the Polish Patryk Borucki, respectively, according to a report from the specialized portal Hit.
Fresneda also fought for the full verdict, according to this report, although the victory over Kazakh Nurzhan Duman was by way of 4-0.
The luck of Jorge Daniel Forcades (67 kg) was not the same, when he fell 0-5 against the Englishman Levi Barnes, despite the many efforts to overcome the limitations imposed by an ankle sprain suffered in his previous presentation, points out Hit.
This Tuesday three other Cubans will be at the closing of the quarterfinals: Ewart Marín (51 kg) will face Georgian Davit Japaridze, Pedro Alexis Veitía (71 kg) against Kazakh Yegor Yegorov and Luis Reynoso (80 kg) against Mexican Emiliano Reducindo.
