Postobón delivered $278 million resources for fruit production to Hit Social associations

postobon, continues to strengthen its support for the countryside and Colombian fruit producers through its Hit Social program.

This time, the company provided incentives for the fruit production of the order of $278 million, which will benefit 1,016 farmers belonging to the program, 376 of whom are women.

This economic incentive is intended to improve the quality of the fruit and strengthen logistics processes for marketing with the company. Nutrition, fruit trader belonging to the Ardila Lülle Organizationwhich guarantees the purchase of fruit at competitive prices, solving one of the biggest problems that Colombian agriculture presents: Marketing.

For the delivery of this economic benefit by Postobón, 26 associations of fruit producers belonging to the program were convened, which presented projects focused on increasing their productivity. In the call, the projects of 19 associations were chosen thanks to the relevance of their proposals.

Each association will receive an economic incentive of $15 million. In addition to this, the associations and other allies will contribute $302 million, which will increase the impact of the investments.

In this way, 47% of the economic resources will be allocated to marketing logistics solutions (purchase of baskets, improvement of collection centers, cold rooms and timbos, among others), 36% to the acquisition of inputs (organic fertilizers and recovery of soils), 11% for the development of biofactories (spaces for the production of organic fertilizers), and 5% for the purchase of equipment such as motor pumps and scythes, among others.

“One of the great commitments of Postobón with the country is the development of the countryside. The program Hit Social Postobón It is a great bet that we have made so that it is so. Today, with these incentives, we continue to promote the competitiveness of fruit-producing families linked to the Hit Social program with a comprehensive vision, contributing to greater opportunities and quality of life for farmers,” said Catalina Echavarría, director of the Postobon Foundation.

The Hit Social Postobón program supports more than 1,800 blackberry, mango, lulo and guava growers from nine departments (Córdoba, Bolívar, Antioquia, Risaralda, Cauca, Valle, Santander, Cundinamarca and Tolima), gathered in 42 associations. Every year, it buys more than $5,500 worth of fruit from these associations while providing them with comprehensive support to improve their production, associativity, education, and quality of life. Thanks to Hit Social Postobón, more than 3,300 rural jobs, thus strengthening the Colombian countryside.
