Mother “forced” to clean hospital ward: Health clarifies complaint

The Ministry of Health issued a statement clarifying the video broadcast through social networks, in which a woman who gave birth was allegedly forced to clean a room at the Pedro Juan Caballero Hospital.

The Ministry of Public Health, through its XIII Sanitary Region – Amambay, clarified that The lady is not admitted to the regional hospital of Pedro Juan Caballero. She herself was discharged 48 hours after delivery, 14 days ago.

The health portfolio added that her baby is hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and the mother was given a place in the hostel, so that you can be close to your child and breastfeed.

“The shelter is a space set up to support families with limited economic resources, whose newborns are hospitalized in the regional hospital. The hostel users are in charge of cleaning the area. Under no circumstances was the mother forced to perform these tasks.” refers to the statement.

“The Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare seeks to provide quality and warm services to users, especially mothers and newborns, and urges responsible complaints to be made in the relevant instances -the hospital management, the regional management or the SAU-, in the face of circumstances that do not conform to these objectives and to the humane treatment that must prevail in all its dependencies”, they underline.
