Dozens of peasant families from the communities of Pucapuquio and Talhuis, in Pucará, already benefit from the technical irrigation project, installed thanks to an agreement between the General Fund of Contravalor Peru Japan and the municipality of Pucará. The infrastructure will allow them to have more water throughout the year, managing to sow up to two agricultural campaigns.

Last Friday, officials from the Fund, the Peruvian Agency for International Cooperation, local authorities and beneficiaries, gathered in the field of work to be part of the delivery ceremony.
Pucará has a population of 4859 inhabitants with a poverty rate of 37.2%.
The cost of the project is 3 million 85 thousand 480 soles. The Contravalor Fund participated in the financing with 2 million 500 thousand soles (81%) and the municipality of Pucará with 585 thousand 480 soles (19%), which allowed the construction of intakes, adduction channels, conduction lines, reservoirs, pressure-break chambers, purge valves, sprinklers, among others.

In addition, training was carried out for the beneficiaries on the operation and maintenance of the irrigation system.
