The State Institute of Hematology of Rio de Janeiro (Hemorio) launches today (21) the Solidarity Cup campaign, to encourage blood donation and reinforce supplies in the state. The action has the support of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), which publicizes the campaign on its networks and will present the oldest donors with official selection shirts.
The campaign, which also celebrates the National Blood Donor Day (celebrated in November 25th), runs until the 30th and will collect both at Hemorio and at Largo da Carioca, a busy area in downtown Rio.
According to Hemorio, since the beginning of the year, there has been a drop in donations, with almost 3,000 blood bags less compared to the same period in 2021. The institute claims that this reduction has an impact on medical care in emergencies, maternity hospitals and health units. state health.
In addition to the CBF, Hemorio’s partners in the campaign are the Metrô, which will distribute 500 single tickets to donors, and the 99 app, which will give a R$30 discount for each trip started or ended at the institute’s headquarters (Rua Frei Caneca 8, Center), through the coupon “HEMORIO99” in the 99Pop category.
