FIFA confirmed that its Non-Discrimination campaign would begin today for the 32 captains of the teams participating in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. After the meeting held by the entity, they decided to advance this campaign that began in the quarterfinals.
According to the entity, this is in accordance with article 13.8.1 of the FIFA Equipment Regulations, which establishes: “For FIFA final competitions, the captain of each team must wear the captain’s armband provided by FIFA.”
It should be noted British media reported that the captains of the German and English teams would wear “One Love” bracelets as a measure of inclusion, however, this type of bracelet is not regulated.
Approved by everyone in the game, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 regulations exist to preserve the integrity of the field of play for all participants and apply equally to all competing teams.
