David Muldrow Beasley visits the country again since the agreement that allowed the operations of the UN World Food Program in Venezuela was signed in April 2021
The executive director of the United Nations (UN) World Food Program, David Muldrow Beasley, arrived in the country this Sunday, November 20, to meet with representatives of the Nicolás Maduro administration, in order to “work on projects aimed at strengthening the cooperation that this body provides to the nation.”
Foreign Minister Carlos Faria reported on his Twitter account about the visit made by the UN official.
Venezuela and the WFP signed a cooperation agreement on April 19, 2021 to provide nutritious school meals to underage students who are in a state of vulnerability, together with the staff of educational institutions, reviewed efe.
WFP food aid is aimed at children between the ages of 6 months and 6 years enrolled in preschools, students with special needs, and administrative workers, teachers, cooks, and laborers.
WFP explained in a press release in April that the purpose is “reach 1.5 million people by the end of the 2022-2023 school year.” The program began in the state of Falcón and was later expanded to Anzoátegui, Barinas, Delta Amacuro, Monagas, Sucre, Trujillo and Yaracuy.

This is David Muldrow Beasley’s third visit to the country, since the agreement that allowed the operations of the UN World Food Program in Venezuela was signed in April 2021.
In September 2021, he made a second visit to Caracas to evaluate the progress of the program, and met with Nicolás Maduro and Juan Guaidó who reaffirmed their support for this humanitarian work.
