Maduro highlights Hebe de Bonafini's dedication to his cause

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, regretted the physical departure of the president of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo movement, Hebe de Bonafini, who passed away this Sunday at the age of 93.

Through a contact with the Argentine station Somos Radio, the Head of State assured that Bonafini is one of the essential figures in the struggle of the peoples for the defense of truth and justice.

«He crossed borders. Loved, respected, admired by all. (…) She is one of the essentials. She is from Bonafini and the movement of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo from Argentina spoke to the world,” Maduro said.

In this sense, he said “from a very young age we learned of the existence of this movement, of its courage and audacity to fight for their children and grandchildren, and all the strength that emanated from it over the decades,” he commented.

The president, who sent his condolences to family, friends and all the Argentine people, assured that the legacy of the social leader will remain more alive than ever.

“The fight for truth, for justice, for hope, for equality continues with such a wonderful example of detachment and loving dedication to a cause like that of Hebe de Bonafini,” he stressed.

Earlier, other representatives of the National Government spoke out to express their regret for the physical departure of the social fighter, such as the Vice President of the Republic, delcy rodriguezThe chancellor Carlos Faria and the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez.
