The Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris), Mexico’s regulatory agency, has decided to authorize the Cuban vaccines Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus for emergency use, announced in Havana on Finley Institute.
According to the statement, the fact is part of the National Health Regulation Strategy, which makes it possible to review and give access to the largest number of health supplies, as long as the quality, safety and efficacy of the product is verified.
As the Reference National Regulatory Authority endorsed by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Cofepris’ decisions are recognized by various countries on the continent. The vaccines that it approves are likely to be used in other nations.
