After the death of legislator Faustino López Vargas, on October 8, the General Executive Board of the National Electoral Institute (INE) yesterday approved various agreements for the extraordinary election process.
In the discussion, the head of the Internal Control Body, Jesús George, pointed out that there are missing
to the regulations, as support elements to support the resources that are requested. But the executive secretary of the INE, Edmundo Jacobo Molina, responded that the referred documents are in the corresponding files.
In an extraordinary session, the General Board approved specific projects, such as the vote of Mexicans residing abroad, for which 15,611 pesos were requested; the monitoring of electoral times on radio and television, which requires 62 thousand 109; for control, 406 thousand 481; for monitoring surveys and advertising, and insertions, 121 thousand 500 pesos. Likewise, it was approved to create a project of preliminary electoral results.
According to the INE, the Senate will issue the call next week and election day will take place on February 19.
