Vázquez Martínez swears foreigners as Dominicans

Santo Domingo.- The Minister of the Interior and Police, Jesús Vásquez Martínez, swore in today 34 foreigners who decided to welcome the Dominican Republic as their homeland, urging them to help build a society based on values.

He said that the country has great potential to develop, but legal and citizen security must be strengthened, since they represent the most important elements.

The naturalized are 17 men and the same number of women; mostly Venezuelans, Morocco, France, Italy and Spain.

Also Haitians, Hondurans, Americans, Colombians, from Nicaragua, Curacao, Peru, Mexico and Cuba.

Of the sworn in, 16 were by ordinary means; 16 by marriage, one by privileged naturalization and one natural child by majority.

After taking the oath, Vazquez Martinez He informed them that the Dominican Republic is a great nation, whose most important value is its inhabitants, a vast majority of whom have a vocation for service and always show warmth to visitors.

Vásquez Martínez, was accompanied by the director of Naturalization, Benito Vidal, who expressed pride that these citizens have preferred to share Dominican nationality, “and believe me that for us it is very important that you can collaborate to build better citizen security.”
