The NMS (National Metereological Service) issued a yellow weather alert in various locations in the country due to high temperatures and rain with storms, as strong electrical activity is expected this Friday
As notified the organism in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Chubut, La Pampa, Mendoza, Río Negro and San Luis there are yellow alerts for strong storms. Also, the NMS reported that in the northwest and part of the central region there will be extreme temperatures.
The rains will reach, in the Buenos Aires territory, the towns of Adolfo Alsina, Daireaux, Guaminí, Pellegrini, Salliqueló, Trenque Lauquen, Tres Lomas, north of Bahía Blanca, Puan and low areas of Coronel Pringles, Coronel Suárez and Tornquist, among others, according to the forecasts of the NMS.
In the case of La Pampa, the affected localities are: Atreucó, Capital, Catriló, Conhelo, Guatraché, Quemú Quemú, Toay, Utracán, Caleu Caleu and Hucal, while In Río Negro, the departments under alert are: Avellenada, Pichi Mahuida, Conesa, Valcheta and the Adolfo Alsina and San Antonio plateau area.
While in Chubut it will be the Costa de Biedma. In San Luis, Gobernador Dupuy, the lower areas of Belgrano and Juan Martín de Pueyrredón will be affected. And in Mendoza the east of Las Heras, La Paz, Lavalle, San Martín, Santa Rosa, General Alvear and the lower area of San Rafael.
Meanwhile, the yellow alert for extreme temperatures reaches the provinces of Tucumán, Catamarca and La Rioja, north of San Juan and San Luis; center of Cordoba; south of Santa Fe and Entre Ríos and north of Buenos Aires.
Temperatures are expected to reach between 37° and 39° in most locationsTherefore, it is recommended to avoid outdoor activities, especially in the midday and afternoon hours, when the sun is strongest.
What does the yellow alert mean?
As notified the organism weather, the yellow alert is in force from 6:00 in the morning this Friday until midnight. Said alert means that “possible meteorological phenomena have the capacity to cause damage and risk of momentary interruption of daily activities.”
Therefore, it is recommended for areas where temperatures will rise, to stay well hydrated and wear light clothing; while where there will be storms it is suggested not to take refuge near trees and electricity poles that may fall, and keep pipes and drains free of garbage.
