After being subjected to a rigorous medical evaluation, in the United States, the state of health of the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, is satisfactory, assures the team of specialists that cares for the president.
President Cortizo Cohen returned to Panama this Thursday the 17th, after having stayed in Houston, Texas in the United States, for medical follow-up.
Cortizo was evaluated by specialists at MD Anderson in that city, as part of the treatment started last July, due to the low-risk myelodysplasia that he was diagnosed with.
It was reported that the results of the tests carried out in Houston report:
- A very good response to treatment
- Positive hematological response (increased hemoglobin).
- Bone marrow analysis is consistent with a complete remission.
- Treatment must continue.
The presidency informed that after his return to the country, Cortizo will return to his usual tasks this Friday, November 18, at the Presidency of the Republic.
