Several Rivenses have had a hard time trying to enter the Gaspar García Laviana Hospital to visit a relative who is hospitalized, due to the mistreatment they say they receive from security personnel at the care center.
This week, a citizen was involved in a tense situation with one of them, whom they identified as Silvio Chavarría and who, according to what they say, has been working in that place for some years. The person affected assured that his underage son longed to see his mother again, who has been in a hospital room in Riven for several days.
“I experienced the mistreatment, at the moment I wanted to enter through a main gate of the hospital. The man pulled the gate, avoiding my son’s passage at all costs, his little head was pressed between the wall and the huge gate, luckily my son brought his motorcycle helmet with him. I pulled my son to save him from the pressure exerted. It was a wild attitude,” complained the boy’s father.

The affected person assured that, for several minutes, he tried to explain the situation to Chavarría, but it was of no use. He replied using inappropriate, offensive and even mocking language.
“This man laughed in my face, he told me to go for bread, because he would spend the whole night outside the hospital, since he was not going to allow me or my son to enter. The man took a picture of me and told me that he already knew who I was,” said the victim.
Witnesses criticize state official
Some Rivens citizens who witnessed the incident spoke out about the embarrassing situation. They assured that the doorman’s attitude was unkind and that this type of situation is carried out very regularly in this hospital.
“This is a never-ending problem, these people here do what they want, I have never seen them treat you in a kind way, they always abuse their authority and this is a problem from years ago, it is not from now, act accordingly. a despotic, rude and inhumane way is something else,” said a citizen named Espinoza.
authorities are silent
The relatives of patients who are hospitalized at the Gaspar García Laviana Hospital in Rivas demand a “strong hand” for people who do not provide kindness and empathy to citizens who come to the hospital for care and to their families.
“It is shameful to see how some public servants act, that their only duty is to be kind, the hospital director must take action on the matter, before offering them the job of security guards, they must teach them good relations, avoid gender violence and be more empathetic”, recommended by the citizen Xóchilt Guadamuz.

Other citizens admit the inconvenience of admitting minors to a hospital, but also said that there are more polite ways to inform people.
“We know that the admission of minors to any hospital is prohibited, because a healthy child is prone to being infected with any disease, which can be fatal, but, on the other hand, the threatening attitude and the abuse of authority It shouldn’t exist,” said Francisco Cruz for his part.
Until the report of this note, the hospital authorities had not ruled on this complaint.
