The Chamber of Deputies and Deputies dispatched this Thursday the 2023 Budget bill -presented by the Government of the President gabriel boric– to the Senate, in a marathon day that was not immune to controversy after the rejection, reduction or elimination of resources for programs of the different ministries.
The day lasted 21 hours and 43 minutes of debate and ended around 8:00 in the morning this Thursday.

Among the votes that generated controversy was number 15 of the Public Treasury gloss, since the National Institute of Human Rights (INDH) was left without funding, removing its budget close to $15 billion.
The Lower House also rejected the Cultural Heritage program, leaving organizations such as the Museum of Memory, Villa Grimaldi, Londres 38, Fundación Frei and Fundación Salvador Allende without funding.
From the DC bench they recognized their error in the vote and will ask that the matter be replaced in the Senate.
On the other hand, opposition legislators entered an indication to expand the coverage and amount of the Universal Guaranteed Pension (PGU). The proposal reached 64 votes in favor; it lacked one to prosper, considering that there were 129 deputies in the Chamber.
Let us remember that on Tuesday, the Corporation rejected the variable expenses of the Ministry of the Interior, which contemplates a 4% increase in security matters. This generated criticism from the Government. The Minister of the Interior, Carolina Tohadescribed the fact as “difficult to understand”.
Minister Marcel: “We are going to have to correct some issues”
At the end of the session, the Minister of Finance, Mario Marcelpointed out that “we are satisfied with the work carried out, however, we are going to have to correct some issues in the remainder of the processing of the project.”
“As we know, there is particularly the rejection of the item corresponding to the Ministry of the Interior and we also have the case of the National Board of Assistance for Scholarships, CONAF and the Heritage Service. All of this will be subject to indications when the project is entered into the Senate,” added the Secretary of State.
“Likewise, we are going to make indications to correct indications that were made here in the Chamber of Deputies that in our opinion are unconstitutional because they require the sponsorship of the Executive, all this corresponds to the process that will be carried out during the next week in the Senate”, complement.
