The Minister of Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, published in his social networks the statistics corresponding to the behavior of covid-19 in Venezuela during the day of Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in which 45 new infections were recorded, of which 33 came from abroad.
The “imported” cases, detected at the Simón Bolívar de Maiquetía International Airport by the health personnel who work there, arrived in Venezuela from Panama (13), Spain (13), Turkey (3), Portugal (2) and the Dominican Republic. (two).
Meanwhile, the 12 new community infections were reported in four of the 24 federal entities in the country where the Capital District topped the list by reporting five cases that were evidenced in five of its 22 parishes: Antímano, El Valle, Macarao, San Pedro and Santa Rosalia.
The Capital District is followed by Yaracuy (3), Miranda (2) and Delta Amacuro (2).
On the other hand, the states of Zulia, Táchira, Mérida, Trujillo, Lara, Falcón, Portuguesa, Cojedes, Apure, Barinas, Carabobo, Aragua, Vargas, Guárico, Amazonas, Bolívar, Anzoátegui, Monagas, Sucre and Nueva Esparta did not report new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

The information published by Ñáñez on the day of November 16, 2022 slightly increased the total number of covid-19 cases that Venezuela reports daily. In this sense, 976 days after the detection of the first infections on March 13, 2020, a total of 546,534 and 540,025 recovered patients are reported, which according to official data represents 99% overcoming the disease.
Currently, there are 684 active cases of covid-19 in the country according to the figures released by the authorities, of which 30 are treated in the public network of hospitals; 40 in Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI), 33 in private clinics and 581 people who are in home isolation or “supervised community care”.
Of the total of 684 active cases of the virus registered in the country, 425 are due to asymptomatic patients; 132 to those with mild respiratory failure; 77 with moderate breathing problems and 50 who are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units due to the complexity of their condition due to covid-19.
Minister Freddy Ñáñez indicated that on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, there were no new deaths as a result of covid-19, so the number of deaths remained stable at 5,825.
