The president of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ), Antonio Fretes, assured that he had no knowledge of an alleged bribe to his son, the lawyer Amílcar Fretes, by Kassen Mohamad Hijazi, who was extradited to the United States. He stated that he does not have fluid communication with his descendant.
The Minister of the Court Antonio Fretes was consulted by the Telefuturo channel regarding the document that Luguista senator Pedro Santa Cruz released and in which the alleged payment of USD 368,000 in September 2021 to his son Amilcar Fretes from Kassen Mohamad Hijazi, who sought to avoid his extradition to the United States.
“Communication with my children is little, almost nil. I have one with whom I deal the most, who is always around me, who has nothing to do with the Judiciary. With Amílcar my communication is not fluid, nor can I have knowledge of the cases that he may have “indicated.
“I do not have any communication, particularly, with the person accused, so I am not aware of Hijazi’s payment either, and the alleged fact that he is not extradited has not been responded to,” he said, adding that he never tried with the extradited or received threats for having signed his extradition.

He also claimed to be unaware of the alleged existence of an audio yours regarding the Hijazi case. This material supposedly would be in the hands of the United States.
Fretes also said that he found out about his son’s case through newspaper publications.

The senator from the Guasu Front stated that Hijazi would have paid Antonio Fretes’s son to avoid his extradition. It is worth remembering that On July 20, the Minister of the Court said that they were using his name to make requests to authorities, for which reason he disavowed them.
